HELLO,

I am available for hire

My name is Jon Cody. Welcome to my site.

Through this site, I hope to provide everything you need to know to make a clear decision in my ability to help you and your business. In everything I do, I have a mission — Build success one stone at a time. This means that I will do what it takes to better myself, any company I work for, or any customer I serve. For an explanation of how I see this mission playing out in my life, click here.

My skills and experience cover various areas that allow me to be adaptable to a variety of environments or circumstances.  My goal to grow as an individual has provided many unique learning opportunities that will eventually lead to my success in business. From the development of business plans, the architectural design of new buildings, or the exploration of new career opportunities, my goal is the same; gain experience, and grow. I also seek to build my skill sets and use them to help make the company where I work a success.

I greatly enjoy developing processes or strategies for improving efficiency, generating growth, or reducing cost in both my personal production and that of the company in which I’m employed. When given the opportunity, I also enjoy teaching what I have learned to others within the corporation so that together we make a stronger team.

Please enjoy your time reviewing my qualifications for a position within your company.

Skill Summary

  • Analytical

I regularly work with spreadsheets or various programming and diagramming tools to handle various data needs, analyze processes, or solve problems of various complexities

  • Technical

I grew up on computers and have advanced experience in many popular computer programs from Office software, graphic design, and computer-aided drafting. I also have experience with more advanced server-side applications and programming applications.

  • Effective Listener

I know how to ask questions to understand what the customer or client is looking for to go above and beyond, providing not just what they need, but sometimes more, for extra sales and customer loyalty.

  • Creative

My creative mind allows me to see things in ways that the average person may not. An “outside-the-box” mindset gives me an advantage of being an innovator. Not only do I recognize the potential areas of improvement, but I often offer several possible solutions.

  • Flexible and adaptable

With experience in a variety of areas, I am able to quickly adapt to changing work environments. Learning quickly as I go, I am able to handle almost any task that may come my way in the course of a workday.

  • Organizational

Being a bit of a planner and a builder of sorts, I have developed a great organizational ability. I regularly use mind maps or other tools in the planning of my personal projects. In the workplace, I am often relied upon to handle special projects that need to be reorganized neatly and in a way that makes for easy accessibility of information or goods.

Work Desired

  • CAD

I can assist people with Revit, AutoCAD, and potentially simpler projects in other programs (I’d have to refresh my memory on some things, or learn as I go.) I’m most experienced with architectural projects, but may be able to assist with other needs. You may have to provide access to the software. See my CAD portfolio for samples of work.

  • Photography

I have experience with a wide variety of photography from portraits, to landscapes and a lot in between. Check out my work on Flickr to see what I have done.

  • Business Analysis or Development

I can help you refine or analyze your business idea or procedures. I seek to identify potential pitfalls you may not have thought of, find inefficiencies with current systems, or assist in improving user/ customer experiences. When required, I often come up with various suggestions that may help you save money, increase user engagement, or help to avoid wasting money on items that may be redundant, poorly planned or implemented at the wrong time. To do this, I enjoy making mind maps, flowcharts, wireframes, or other ways to organize or express data or systems. I can also act as a middle man between the business person, and the tech guy as I have a good understanding of both and can usually get and explain wants and needs to appropriate parties.

  • Excel Work

Having created many datasets to analyze various business estimates, or keep track of various data, I am familiar with a lot of advanced excel functionality. If I haven’t done it yet,  I can learn. If you need your data organized, or perhaps analyzed (depending on dataset) or just entered in a easy to read dataset, I can help.

  • WordPress

I can assist you in setting up basic WordPress sites for you business or personal needs. I do not do custom coding at this point, but I can get you set up on your hosting, transfer sites to different hosts, get your plugins or themes installed, or help make/ arrange the data that you wish to display. Ideally you should have the text part figured out, I can then get it arranged into appropriate pages or identify if anything should be added for better user experience.

Think of Jon Cody when choosing your next candidate. He won’t let you down.
