My Responsibilities

  • Responsible for adequacy of technology equipment
  • Supported more than 58,000 square feet of conference/ banquet space throughout 49 rooms for next and same day events

Experience I Gained:

  • Learned the behind the scenes of the hospitality industry
  • Learned how to set up rooms quickly for a variety of events
  • Gained an understanding of event planning requirements
  • Began to learn audio/ visual equipment set up

Notable Points:

  • Most of my responsibilities dealt with the table and chair set up opposed to the technical
  • I had the opportunity to run sound during a live event, though I didn’t completely know what I was doing
  • Sometimes, we had multiple events in the same day and had to do quick turn-arounds and clean up to prepare for totally different set ups.
