Love is patience when life seems far too slow.
Love is kind to those with little to show.
It does not envy things not of your own,
Nor does it boast about where you have grown.
It does not think itself better than you,
Nor disrespects others in what they do.
Love thinks of what others may have to say,
And doesn’t get mad if things start to sway.
Love never keeps any records of wrong,
Nor when wrong, does it rejoice in great song.
Instead, love values when truth can be told
And bears all pains of the young to the old.
Love believes the best for all it may meet,
And hopes for a great life that’s at His feet.
Love endures trials that all of us face,
It never gives up as we run our race.
