When you’re alone, and no one’s near
Whose is that small voice that you hear?
Barely a whisper that’s not in your head,
You struggle to hear what it has said.
You look around wondering from where it came,
You then hear it again, one in the same,
Perhaps it’s God’s voice speaking to you.
Perhaps he’s trying to tell you what to do.
‘Say it again, Lord,” you ask with great might,
‘l want to be sure that I heard you right.’
He said, “l want you to know you’ll always be loved,
Even if you are sometimes pushed and shoved.
But I need you back on the path that I choose,
For I have a plan, and you I will use.”
“Why choose me Lord? I am so weak.
Can’t you see my future looks bleak?”
“Trust me son, you are in my hands,
You must not try to understand.”
“Send me to where you will have me go,
You’ll keep me safe, this I know.”
“You faith will be rewarded in this life you live.
Your strength will grow from the many blessings I’ll give.”
“So, where am I going Lord, if I may ask?
What is my goal? What is my task?”
“Patience my son, soon you will see,
For now I just wanted to know your trust was in me.”
